I help people stay and reside more peacefully in their homes.
It's no secret that the housing landscape in Nashville is incredibly competitive and transitional. Demand for housing is high and affordable inventory is low. And the cost of living for all Nashvillians continues to rise. Still, when I started mediating in General Sessions Court downtown with the Nashville Conflict Resolution Center, I was shocked at how many evictions and other housing-related disputes end up going to court. I offer mediation services on a sliding scale for people who are at risk of losing their homes, owners or landlords who are missing payments, or anyone experiencing chronic stress due to ongoing residential disputes.
Mediation can help you de-escalate conflict
and resolve stressful disputes privately.

Landlord vs. Tenant
Mediation can help resolve issues related to rent payments or increases, lease violations, property damage and security deposits, evictions, repairs and maintenance, disruptive behavior, unauthorized vehicles, loud music, pet behavior, and more.

Neighbor vs. Neighbor
Mediation can address issues related to shared spaces, maintenance responsibilities, noise complaints, property boundaries and structures that cross property lines, property damage, shared spaces, pet behavior, parking, and more.

Owner vs. HOA
Mediation can help resolve disputes related to missed HOA fees, noise and nuisance allegations, rule violations, repair and maintenance issues, pet behavior, unauthorized vehicles, architectural approvals and changes, property damage, and more.
By facilitating open dialogue and fostering cooperation,
I can help you create mutually beneficial solutions
while avoiding expensive, lengthy legal battles.
Benefits of Mediation

1
You'll be guided through tough converations.
As a mediator, I ensure that the mediation process is fair, balanced, and focused. You'll be able to have more open, direct communication, allowing you to express concerns honestly as we work toward practical, lasting solutions. I go beneath the surface to identify the most critical underlying needs and interests —an essential step toward finding solutions. I also help everyone stay on track, manage interruptions and emotions, and ensure that the conversation remains constructive.
2
You'll save a lot of time, money, and emotional energy.
Mediation is less expensive, often avoiding the lengthy delays and high expenses of legal action. While court cases get more costly as they drag on for weeks, months, or even years, I can typically schedule our mediation session within days. This gives everyone a chance to be heard much sooner, before tensions escalate even further. And because mediation scheduling is flexible and mediation can be done online, the costs of missing work, spending money on arrangements for children or other dependents, and other expenses can be reduced or even eliminated.
3
You'll be able to better preserve ongoing relationships.
Through mediation, I help de-escalate conflict, encourage communication, and create a better understanding of what each person is going through. The collaborative nature of this process can help improve and preserve ongoing relationships among neighbors, landlords, tenants, and HOAs, creating a more harmonious living situation for all. And by helping neighbors learn to resolve issues together, mediation gives people the tools to prevent or resolve future disagreements more quickly and easily.
